The Westview
Park Ethnic Festival was a big success, the weather was a little
changeling but everyone had a wonderful time.
Councilman Tom Quirk came out to greet the people,
Officer Bryen
Glass from the 2nd precinct Community Outreach Team was present, and
a
voter registration volunteer. The volunteer staff from Walgreens
provided valuable health information, blood pressure screening and a
large supply of give-a-ways.
We thank Eugene Braxton for providing instructor Hazel Moody who taught
us four popular line dances.
We thank Joseph Matthews with the “Four Flights Up” concert band for a
fantastic mini concert. Our
sponsors for this event were Sam’s Club, Gaints and C&R Welding
Services. Members present were Walter B. Hollman, Sr., Geniyu Raji,
Rosalind and Courtney Hobson, Rosa and Bennie Crowell, Jackie Lynam, Don
Blackman, Thressa Dorsey, Lucille Pinkney, Mary Breland.
Special thanks to the committee
members Lucille Pinkney, Liz Sellers, Audrey Ingram, Thressa Dorsey,
